A person who became stuck in flood water sat on their roof whilst awaiting rescue.
Fire crews from Bridport, Charmouth and Weymouth were called to a person stuck on the roof of their car in Gassons Lane, Whitchurch Canonicorum at 12.43pm earlier today.
Bridport Fire Station say that the person was rescued without harm.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said: "Crews from Bridport Charmouth and Weymouth were mobilised to a person stuck in flood water and sat on the roof of their car.
"Thankfully they were rescued without harm.
"Many rivers have burst their banks and are continuing to rise.
"If flood water is blocking your route, do not drive through it. Find an alternative route."
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to a car stuck in flood water in Gassons Lane, Whitchurch Canonicorum at 12.43pm today.
"Crews from Charmouth, Bridport and the technical rescue team from Weymouth were mobilised to the incident.
"On arrival, crews found one vehicle in flood water and the driver had self-rescued. The remaining appliances were stood down and the crew on scene requested the local authority to put a road closure in place."
The stop message, meaning that the situation is under control and no more recourses are needed, was given at 1.26pm.
