A medical incident on a beach in Lyme Regis has sparked an emergency callout.
Coastguard teams from West Bay and Lyme Regis were called to the incident on Monmouth Beach, Lyme Regis.
The beach stretches westwards from the harbour at Lyme Regis to Pinhay Bay in Devon.
The casualty was passed into the care of the South Western Ambulance Service.
Additionally whilst on Monmouth Beach the Lyme Regis Coastguard were approached by another person with a hand injury caused by a hammer whilst fossil hunting.
A spokesperson for Lyme Regis Coastguard said: "We were called out at 11.43am on Saturday, January 27 with West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team to a medical incident on Monmouth Beach.
"Casualty passed into the care of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
"In addition, treated a separate casualty with a hand injury caused by a hammer whilst fossiling."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 12.29pm on Saturday, January 27 to an incident on Monmouth Beach, Lyme Regis.
"We sent one double-crewed ambulance and we conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal Devon and Exeter Wonford Hospital.”
