A local transport group will be holding its next public meeting next week.
The West Dorset Western Area Transport Action Group (WATAG) will meet at the WI Hall in Bridport on Thursday January 25.
The agenda will include a review of the last 12 months, a Treasurer’s report and appointing a new committee.
Chairman Bob Driscoll expressed the group's interest in seeking a new Chairperson to head the WATAG as well as welcoming more committee members.
He said: “Since our September meeting, there have been developments on both rail and bus services, and we hope to have representatives from bus and rail companies, also the transport arm of Dorset Council in attendance, to answer any queries.
"We hope to hear from Axe Valley West Dorset Ring and Ring about their long-term plans and Bridport Town Council about the timetable changes to the number seven bus service. We also hope to hear from First Wessex about their plans to the number six service, which was recently renamed CR6. A South Western Railway rep should also be there to discuss improving the resilience of services.”
The meeting will begin at 6.30 pm, with doors open from 6 pm, and aims to finish by 8.30 pm. There will be a review of items raised at the last meeting and time for a “democratic moment” when any individual may raise questions about local bus and rail services to which they would like answers.
Anyone interested in public transport issues is encouraged to attend.
It will be a ‘hybrid’ meeting and a link will be provided to enable those unable to attend in person to join us on Zoom
