A railway club in Bridport held its annual New Year exhibition last Saturday displaying models of old train stations in local areas.
The Bridport & District Model Railway Club held the event in the public hall, Fleet Street, Beaminster, on January 13.
The exhibition attracted not just local visitors but also saw people from Bournemouth, Blandford, Taunton, Tavistock and Axminster in attendance.
Club members brought along models of stations across Somerset, Dorset and Devon including West Bay, Shillingsford, Brewery Lane and Tadnol.
There were 12 layouts in total and standouts included ‘Cheddar’, depicting a station on the old Somerset & Dorset line, and 'Shillingsford' which is a model based on the station of Shillingstone in north Dorset.
The club chairman Graham Purse said: “The club is extremely grateful for the generous support of the public, many of whom reflected on the warm, friendly, and family atmosphere of the day.
"The club meets every Tuesday at Askerswell Village Hall from about 7pm until 9pm and anyone with an interest in model railways is welcome to attend.”
The club’s next exhibition will be in Bridport on Saturday, July 27 at Colfox School, Bridport.
