Hundreds of people gathered for Bridport Community Orchard's Wassail celebrations, singing and drinking to the health of the trees.
Wassailing is a pagan New Year's tradition where people gather to bless the coming year's crops, warding off evil spirits to ensure a bountiful harvest for autumn.
The event on Sunday was held at St Mary’s Field Orchard, off South Street in Bridport and led by Martin Maudsley and supported by Wyld Morris.
Cider was available for people to enjoy as well as hot spiced apple juice and homemade goods.
People could bring their own instruments, pots and pans and whistles in this celebration of nature.
