A Bridport group is delivering a talk on the war years.
The West Dorset Group has arranged a fascinating talk on the time ’80 years ago the US 16th Infantry Regiment arrived in west Dorset.’
It will look into what the troops were doing during their stay and the places they used as billets, mess halls and recreation.
The talk will take place at Loders Village Hall on Saturday, January 13 at 2pm.
Speakers include Jane Ferentzi Sheppard, Cheryl Ludgate, Nick Pitt, Robin Stapleton and experts from the West Bay Discovery Centre.
The talk is open to everyone and there is a £3 entry fee for non-members or a £1 entry fee for members.
Refreshments will also be served in the form of tea and biscuits.
The West Dorset Group often meet at Loders Village Hall, inviting guests speakers to go along and talk about a local theme or issue.
