BRIDPORT have been forced to postpone their South West Peninsula League Premier East meeting with Torrington due to a waterlogged pitch.
Following a deluge from Storm Henk, standing water has made its presence felt on the St Mary’s Field pitch, with the Bees unable to render the surface playable in time.
The development also means manager Chris Herbst must wait to serve the second of a two-game suspension.
South West Peninsula League officials this morning reminded member clubs of the provision to make an early postponement, without a referee’s pitch inspection.

In a short statement, the Bees said: “Update for this weekend. The first team game is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
“Reserves away game is currently on and ladies will play on the St Mary's playing field pitch. Please keep checking for further updates.”
Elsewhere, forward Tom Richardson has signed for Wincanton Town.
Bridport were scheduled to play Hamworthy Rec on Tuesday in the Dorset Senior Cup.
However, that match has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 13 (7.45pm).
