A Lyme Regis man has appeared in court charged with being behind the wheel of a car after drinking.
Tomasz Gajdamowicz, 31, of Uplyme Road in Lyme Regis appeared before Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, January 2.
He pleaded guilty to being in charge of a mechanically propelled vehicle whilst unfit to drive through drink on Summerhill Road in Lyme Regis on November 30.
The court heard that Gajdamowicz was located by police after reports of a domestic incident and was found sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
Tara Olney, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said officers could "smell that he was intoxicated."
The court heard that Gajdamowicz wanted to keep his licence as he uses his car to help his mother and his other family members, who are reliant on his ability to drive.
He was ordered to pay £457 in fines and court costs and was given 10 penalty points on his driver’s licence.
