West Dorset is set to officially welcome the festive season.
This weekend, Lyme Regis will flick the switch on its Christmas lights.
Events are due to take place throughout Saturday, building up to the big switch-on at Broad Street at 5pm.
The full itinerary for the afternoon:
2.30pm: Christmas lantern workshop in Lyme Regis Baptist Church Pine Hall. Children and adults are invited to join in the fun and make a lantern. A free event with all materials provided.
4.30pm: Judging of the lanterns in Lyme Regis Baptist Church with prizes for best entries in each of the age categories. Lanterns made at home are welcome to enter.
5pm: Lyme Regis Majorettes, Fitsteps and Lyme Morris will be performing in Broad Street followed by a parade of Christmas lanterns.
The wait for Santa to arrive on his sleigh before he starts a countdown to the big switch on.
Broadwindsor
The annual lighting of Broadwindsor’s Christmas tree will take place on Thursday, November 30, at 6.30pm at the village green.
Over to the White Lion for carols, mince pies and mulled wine afterwards.
West Bay
Christmas Tree on the Green takes place at West Bay on Sunday, December 3.
Christmas carols and a presentation by event organiser West Bay Days to its beneficiaries will be at 3pm inside the church in West Bay.
The Christmas tree illumination and refreshments will take place at 4pm on the green.
Bridport
Bridport’s main event – the Christmas Cheer – is December 6 from 4pm.
Crowds will gather at Bucky Doo for the big switch-on and shops in the town are open later for Christmas shopping.
Beaminster
While Beaminster will light up for Christmas, it won't have a switch-on event this year.
As reported back in the News back in March, funding was cited as part of the reason for the Christmas festival not going ahead this year but, rather disappointingly, a major factor was the fact volunteers have, in the past, been abused on the night due to the road closures needed in place.
There will still be a main Christmas tree, festive-themed lights in the square and smaller trees throughout the town.
