A SIX-FOOT tall knitted soldier was created for Remembrance Day 2023 by a Beaminster woman.
The impressive display was on display in the Fleet Club in the town for Armistice Day and Remembrance Day over the weekend.
Creator Angie Scotland, 62, from Beaminster, said she spent six weeks knitting in "every spare minute" she had in order to get the display ready for the weekend.
She said: "This was my way of giving back to the club which holds so many functions.
"Last year I knitted just a head last year and I decided to go one better and do a whole soldier.
"Beaminster Museum donated a mannequin for me and as I work full time I spent every spare minute for six weeks constantly knitting.
"They say some women become golf widows, well I think my husband became a widow to a knitter.
"On Friday night I was up until 3am getting it ready for Armistice Day on Saturday."
The knitted soldier display was well received by locals who came into the club to take photos and congratulate Angie on her hard work.
She added: "Everyone was lovely and very appreciative. It makes it well worth all these hours.
"At least I get my weekends back now."
