A DORSET-based animal rescue centre has issued an urgent plea for dog food after the number of dogs entering its care has soared.
Margaret Green Animal Rescue said it is dealing with more rescue dogs than it has ever seen before.
The charity said its Lincoln Farm team in Winterborne Kingston is getting through 140 tins of dog food every week.
As a result, it is in desperate need of dog food supplies and has issued a plea to members of the public for donations.
A spokesperson said: “There is a particular need to build up the strength of dogs arriving who have been neglected and fed far too little to maintain a healthy weight.
“We would be so grateful for any donations of wet dog food to the centre, to help us keep our four-legged friends happy and healthy during their time in our care.”
The charity said people who would like to donate wet food directly to its Lincoln Farm centre can do so via its Amazon wishlist at https://amzn.eu/2ahb9ie
Alternatively, people can drop off donations to the centre in Bere Road, Winterborne Kingston, during its opening hours of 9am to 3.30pm. The centre is closed on Tuesdays.
The spokesperson added: “Thank you so much for all your support.”
