Multiple properties have been damaged as a ‘mini tornado’ swept through a Dorset village.
After a battering from storm Ciarán, multiple homes were damaged and large amounts of debris had been strewn across the village of Loders.
Residents described the havoc as a ‘mini tornado which had passed through the village.’
One building had taken the full force and substantial damage had been caused to the thatched roof and gable end of the property.
Large trees were also uprooted during all the chaos.
Crews from Bridport Fire Station were called to the scene just before 11pm after alarms began to ring out.
Many residents in from Loders noted how bad the storm was last night with one suggesting it was ‘the worst they have ever been through.’
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said: “On arrival we were met by damage to multiple properties and large amounts of debris strewn across the road after what was described by residents as a ‘mini tornado’ had passed through the village.
“One building had taken the full force and caused substantial damage to the thatched roof and gable end of the property. Large trees had been uprooted too and other properties received damage of various forms.”
