The latest art exhibition coming to Lyme Regis will be displayed in the town’s museum from October 11 until November 26.
The exhibition, called Mysterious Adventures, features the paintings of local artist David Brooke and will be displayed in the Rotunda Gallery.
A spokesperson for the museum said David’s motivations are ‘to create a sense of mystery in which people embark on unexpected adventures’.
David’s work uses many layers of acrylic paint, creating texture and detail that gives them a medieval book illumination style but with a contemporary twist.
“The idea of mystery for its own sake appeals to me,” David said.
“It seems to me that we always want to know the answers to everything. But I believe it is better just to experience the beauty of the mysterious world”.
