Three cars have been destroyed in a fire at a town centre car park.

Firefighters were called to East Street, Bridport, just after 5am this morning.

A crew from Bridport arrived to find all three vehicles in flames.

Their stop message, which indicates no further resources are needed, came in at 5.50am.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said they had no further information on how the blaze was started but police are investigating.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report of a vehicle fire in the East Street car park.

“It was subsequently reported that the fire had spread to two further vehicles.

“The cause of the fire has not been confirmed at this time and officers are carrying out further enquiries.”
