Ex-members of a Beaminster school association have celebrated its 100th anniversary.
19 men and women who were members of the Beaminster and Netherbury Grammar School’s Old Boys Old Girls Association were part of an afternoon tea at Beaminster’s Tangerine Café and Gallery.
Those present included people who started at the school between 1949 and 1960 who attended alongside their guests.
The grandson of the first Boys Secretary, Ernest Bugler was also present at the milestone event.
Sadly, the group could not make contact with relatives of the first Girls Secretary Kathlen Sprackling.
On the day of the event, the names of the members of the first committee were read out along with those who served in 2017 when the last large-scale reunion was held.
A large majority of the 2017 committee were present including, Peter Hardwill, Lesley Rundle and Patrick Rundle.
A round of applause was also given as a thanks to these members and all those who had worked to keep both ex-pupils and staff in touch with each other, the school and Beaminster itself.
Attendees generally agreed that these efforts had brought a great deal of enjoyment to many people associated with the school over the last 100 years.
