Student Lily Green made an entry to her year 11 leavers' prom in spectacular style.
The 16-year-old, from Bridport, arrived at the Sir John Colfox Academy prom at Symondsbury Tithe Barn by helicopter.
The treat was arranged by Lily's stepfather Paul Crabb, whose friend Danny owns the helicopter.
Paul even piloted the vehicle to whisk Lily and her friends Sophie and Tegan to the event, while Danny landed it.
He said: "I asked Danny if he would mind using the helicopter to take Lily to the prom and he said yes.
"It was a little bit of a different way to arrive at a prom. Lily had an amazing time. She was the centre of the show and everyone gathered around to watch.
"It was something for her to remember."
- Lily was one of hundreds of west Dorset students who have been saying goodbye to their school years at some memorable proms in the area.
A selection of them will be featured in a special eight page supplement in tomorrow's Bridport News and photo galleries of west Dorset proms will be published on the Bridport News online in coming days.
