POLICE were called to a crash which closed a west Dorset road yesterday (Monday, July 10).
Officers were alerted to a single-car collision in Beaminster Road in the village of Melplash at 9.07pm.
The A3066 - a key route between Bridport and Beaminster - was closed for more than an hour while emergency services dealt with the scene.
This was to allow the vehicle involved to be recovered, with witnesses reporting that it had ended up in a nearby field.
Dorset Police said that no injuries were reported and the road was reopened at about 10.15pm.
