A POPULAR beauty spot was closed for a mystery film crew which has now been revealed to be creating Netflix's The Sandman.
The show is back for a second series and filming in popular locations across Dorset.
The US fantasy drama was spotted filming at Durdle Door near Lulworth Cove for several days.
The Sandman is an American fantasy drama television series based on the 1989–1996 comic book written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics.
Actor Tom Sturridge was seen dressed in character acting along the coast.
The crew has also been spotted at Parkstone Cemetery in Poole, prompting further speculation about a possible second filming location.
Production vans have also been spotted in Sandbanks.
When it began streaming in 2022, Sandman included many famous actors like Jenna Coleman and Stephen Fry, to name a few.
The show is set to return to screens in Summer 2024.
When Durdle Door announced its brief closure, there was brief speculation that a BBC adaptation of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five production was the reason, but this seems not to be the case.
Dorset has always been a popular filming location. With its picturesque views, it has accommodated films like Wonka, Harry Potter, and Jane Austen’s persuasion.
Nearby beaches including the adjacent Man O’ War remain open as do the coastal paths.
Parking is available at Lulworth Cove Car Park, from where visitors can access Lulworth Cove and various shops and cafes.
