MURRAY Legg has been named the new manager of Beaminster.
Legg has almost 20 years of experience at the Rainbows and succeeds ex-boss Neil Holt after he quit the club last month.
Former skipper Legg is traditionally a forward-minded player but, in a sign of Beaminster’s struggles last season, was often named in goal as the Memorial Ground side grappled with unavailability.
They could only finish 11th and bottom of the Dorset Senior League in 2022/23 and must wait to find out whether relegation awaits them.

But Legg is relishing the rebuild and insists player availability will not be a concern.
He told the Bridport News: “I think the players wanted a new feel to it so I was keen to step up as manager next season.
“I’ve been assisting Neil this season anyway, so it’s just a bit of progression for the club.
“I’m really pleased and looking forward to the challenge. I want to get a bit of fun back into the club.”
Legg will not have a designated assistant, with senior players from the team assisting him during the campaign.
Beaminster will also run a new reserve team, led by Ian Harvey, in Dorset League Division Five next season.
