Nearly 100 volunteers joined a 'Street to sea' litter pick in Bridport and West Bay as part of The Big Help Out.
Volunteers met at three locations in Bridport - Morrisons, Waitrose and the Co-op and worked their way down to West Bay beach picking up litter.
This time the litter pick was linked to 'The Big Help Out', part of the celebrations to mark the coronation of King Charles III.
It was the fifth Street to Sea beach clean in the town, with two events organised each year in the spring and autumn.
Outgoing Bridport Mayor Cllr Ian Bark joined in and was extremely pleased with the turnout.
Cllr Bark said: "Beach cleans are sexy, street cleans aren't.
"It was amazing to see nearly 100 people on the street and beach on Monday.
"People started at the supermarkets, made their way through streets, green spaces and the beach and collected a mountain of litter.
"The Town Council used an electric truck to collect the bin bags and had to do two trips.
"It just goes to show people here care about the community they live in.
"We call it from street to sea because what lands in the street ends up in the sea, so by doing this we have hopefully prevented this waste from going into our seas."
Alongside the clean, Bridport now has nearly 100 additional 'Litter free street champions' who volunteer their time to pick litter in their local area
A spokesperson for Litter Free Bridport said: "Despite the weather we had a good turnout out at the four locations for Street to Sea with around 100 people taking place for the Kings Coronation ' The Big Help Out' and lots of litter picked up from our streets, rivers and beaches.
"We had 25 at the Waitrose pick including 5 from Barratt David Wilson (Developer of Foundry Lea). At the Morrisons site there were several members of the St Mary’s Church congregation who joined in as part of working towards achieving Eco Church status. Mayor"
Cllr Bark added: “Despite the drizzle we had our biggest number of pickers out today with people of all ages doing their bit.
"Morale was amazing and people were very competitive."
Amongst the shopping trolleys, cans, bottles and plastic removed from the streets, one picker found a set of Apple AirPods in a hedge.
They now have been charged up and are able to collect using the Find My Air Buds App to locate them.
