A woman has been charged with theft, criminal damage and assault during an incident at the Co-op in Bridport.
On Saturday, March 4 at around 5pm it was reported that a woman attempted to steal items from the store and behaved in a threatening manner toward a member of staff.
Damage was also reportedly caused to a shop window.
Following enquiries, a 34-year-old woman from Bridport was charged with theft from a shop, criminal damage and assault and is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday 14 April 2023.
Police are still looking for a potential witness.
A spokesperson for Bridport Police said: "We are seeking to identify a potential witness to an incident that occurred at the Co-op in Sea Road North on the afternoon of Saturday 4 March 2023.
"We are appealing to a woman walking a dog in the area who reportedly helped the victim following the incident to please come forward as you may have information to help our investigation."
