Finley Phillips, a baby boy with an extremely rare illness, has sadly passed away at just six-months-old.
As reported, parents Nick Phillips from Bridport and Abby Kay from Surrey moved their whole life from Thailand to travel back to the UK with Finley for medical care.
After being born in Bangkok, Finley was born with a chromosomal disorder which left him with holes in his heart.
A duplication of chromosome 14 resulted in him being diagnosed with a number of significant abnormalities, including Craniosynostosis (early skull fusion), two holes in his heart; severe hearing loss; club feet and hands and an inability to gain weight.
Heartbroken mother Abby said: "On February 19 our Finley slipped away into his final sleep. His journey was too hard and he just couldn’t do it anymore. He was the most beautiful, strong, clever and brave boy and we are so lucky to have been his parents for almost 6 months. He brought us so much joy and love like we’ve never known.
"We are completely broken but even in his final weeks, Finley knew he had to get us home to England with family before he said goodbye to us. He will forever be in our hearts."
Finely's parents Nick Phillips, from Bridport and Abby Kay from Surrey had been living in Thailand for five years after fulfilling a lifelong dream to live abroad.
After Finley's diagnosis, expensive medical bills left the family on the verge of bankruptcy with medical bills and a flight home both billed at around £40,000.
Thanks to a fundraising page, the family were able to fly home after raising more than £45,000.
Finley was transferred to Ipswich Hospital where he was kept whilst the family were waiting for news of a transfer to the hospital best suited to care for Finley.
Abby and Nick had been staying with family who live nearby and Finley had been due to be discharged on Sunday, February 19.
Since his death, tributes have begun pouring into the fundraising page with messages of condolences.
