BRIDPORT RESERVES 1
SHERBORNE TOWN RESERVES 4
SHERBORNE Town won the battle of the reserve teams at St Mary’s Field, beating their Bridport counterparts 4-1 in the Jewson Dorset Premier League.
Bridport were unable to reproduce their scintillating 7-1 victory away to the Zebras, but the Bees did take a sixth-minute lead when 16-year-old Kieran Coombs tucked home Harry Burwood’s headed lay-off.
Toby Mann was denied a second before the break but, with Sherborne creeping back into the game, the visitors levelled on the hour mark.
Their equaliser came from centre-half Nicholas Jacobs, his booming clearance catching keeper Kian Wootton out as it sailed into the net.

The manner of the goal appeared to unsettle the Bees and Sherborne were suddenly energised to grab a second goal on 65 minutes through Aaron Binding, who swept past Wootton from a square pass.
In the final ten minutes, Binding and Jacobs completed their braces with a goalmouth scramble and a volley from 18 yards to rock the Bees.
Adam Herring’s men stay 16th of the 17 teams and travel to Park Road to face eighth-placed Blandford United on Saturday (3pm).
Bees: Wootton, Elliott (Kirkbride), Heaton, Ja Scadding, Wellman, Burwood, Baker, Coombs, A Steele (Brook), Arnold, Mann.
