As a regular visitor to Lyme Regis I was dismayed read of the dog attacks on sheep (News 23rd Feb).

Sadly this seems to be an inevitable product of what I can only call the dogification of society.
Dog ownership has risen dramatically in the last few years but unfortunately it is not accompanied by responsibility among owners.
Pubs and restaurants seem to encourage them in to their unsuitable environments by stating they are Dog Friendly. It would be more logical if the few, if there are any, stated they didn’t welcome dogs.
Perhaps it is time Licensing was brought back to encourage responsibility.
