BRIDPORT manager Chris Herbst admits Torrington’s poor defensive record “doesn’t change anything” for the Bees.
Herbst’s men travel to the Super Greens on Saturday (3pm) looking to put further distance between the sides in the mid-table.
Torrington have conceded 66 goals in the South West Peninsula League Premier East this season, the third-worst record after bottom side Elmore (87) and Plymouth Marjon (76).
However, Herbst is ignoring the league table, particularly after the Bees lost 2-1 to struggling Elburton Villa two weeks ago.

Speaking to the Bridport News, Herbst said: “To be honest, when I did the reserves we had a shocking goal difference and it really wound me up.
“So, I only look at us. Two weeks ago I spoke about Elburton and how they don’t concede many.
“I do have a look but it doesn’t change anything for me. I just want to get us on a plus goal difference.
“(Survival) might come down to that, I don’t think it will but you never know.”
Before publication, Bridport were due to visit Cullompton Rangers last night.
And Herbst is looking to avoid a mis-step as the Bees hunt progress up the table.
“You’ve got to take every game as it comes,” he said. “As soon as you lose one, the results tend to fall against us and they catch you. You want to pull away.
“I’m confident taking this side away to anyone really. I want three points and that’s the target I’m setting.”
Lewis Howe could return but Greg Taylor will again deputise for the unavailable Jordon Scadding.
On Taylor’s return to the club, Herbst said: “I messaged him and just asked. Goalkeepers are like gold dust.
“Callum Smalley’s only just come back from a long lay-off and I didn’t want to chuck him in at the deep end.
“Greg said he was keen to play and it’s a no-brainer because he’s a good keeper.
“I’ve managed him for the couple of games I took last year. There were so many games where he kept it at a lower score that it probably should’ve been.
“The goalkeeper situation is a very tender one, so when we get our hands on a keeper to help us it’s a no-brainer.”
