EVENINGS of live dance can be enjoyed in Bridport alongside the screening of short films.
Bridport Youth Dance (BYD) and the BYD street dance crew present Ricochet - an evening of live dance together with the BYD short films The Dance Weavers - From The Boards to the Earth and Choreography Geography at the Bridport Electric Palace on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11.
The films were created in response to the pandemic and the closure of the local dance school.
From this a new and exciting vision has taken place - a change of direction that fuses dance, movement, nature and the local land.
The Dance Weaver films are a part of BYD's 'ART and DANCE in the LANDscape' programme.
Alongside this, the heart of BYD also lies in its work in the theatre and in particular the Bridport Electric Palace.
Ricochet is Bridport Youth Dance's 19th annual production.
Throughout the performance, contemporary, urban and tap dance will intertwine in an evening of high quality dance involving more than 70 young talented dancers from Bridport Youth Dance.
Ricochet is also a celebration of BYD's 21st birthday anniversary.
Throughout its journey BYD has inspired and encouraged thousands of young people to experience the value of dance and the arts.
The performances will take place on Friday, March 10 at 7.30pm and Saturday, March 11 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm at the Bridport Electric Palace.
Tickets are £10.50 for adults plus a £1 booking fee and £7.50 for students and children.
Tickets are available from Bridport Tourist Information Centre on 01308 424901 and Bridport Electric Palace at electricpalace.org.uk/theatre 35, South Street, Bridport.
