A fundraiser for the victims of a horror crash in Mosterton has raised more than £20,000 with one anonymous donor donating £1,000.
The funds will go to help a family hit by tragedy in the small west Dorset village when a car collided with three pedestrians, resulting in the death of a 48-year-old mother.
The generous £1k donation to the online fundraiser for the victims - which was set up by members of the community - came on Saturday, February 18 and the user left no message or details of their name.
All three pedestrians were taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment, but tragically a woman named Nicole Bowden, 48, died in hospital of her injuries.
A woman in her 20s remains in hospital, while a young boy sustained serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening and has now been released from hospital.
Shane Bovey has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road traffic collision, causing death by driving a vehicle while uninsured, causing death by driving a vehicle while unlicensed, aggravated vehicle taking and making threats to kill.
The victims' fundraiser was set up by local residents Nathan Snell and Amber Gundry with the aim of giving the family 'time to grieve and relieve stress'.
On Tuesday evening (February 21) Mr Snell posted an update on social media: "We just wanted to say another massive thank you to anyone who has donated to the GoFundme we set up 11 days ago. We have been so touched by all the lovely messages and generosity shown.
"Last night we hit £20k which is absolutely incredible."
The couple have also handed out QR codes to local businesses to direct people to the fundraising page.
Mr Snell said: "The page will stay live for a little while longer and ask that you continue to share, and display the QR code."
