BRIDPORT Reserves held on to take a point at Poole Borough in the Jewson Dorset Premier League.

Adam Herring’s men came under the cosh for large parts of the game and were grateful to their defence and several important stops from keeper Kian Wootton to keep the score goalless.

Bridport’s Jaydon Scadding did hit the bar in the first half from a corner, while Finn Morgan missed a golden chance five yards out.

After Bridport rode out heavy Poole pressure late on, Harry Burwood nearly snatched victory with a shot destined for the bottom corner, only for his shot to hit teammate Callum Arnold and deflect away for a goal-kick.

Speaking to the Bridport News, Herring said: “We were happy to keep a clean sheet in the end. It was a struggle, they deserved to win.

“We had a couple of chances towards the end but at times it was backs to the wall and Kian had a really, really good game.”

Bridport now visit Wimborne Reserves on Saturday (3pm), with new signing Adam Heaton (ankle) and Dan Elliott doubts after picking up injuries against Poole.

Bees: Wootton, Heaton (James), Radivojsa, Mansley, Elliott (Brook), Ja Scadding, McAllister, Burwood, Morgan, A Steele (Kirkbride), Arnold.
