Incredible new footage captures the moment a major rockfall cut off a west Dorset beach.
The cliff gave way on January 18 at West Bay's East Beach, leaving huge amounts of rock left on the shoreline.
The fall was discovered just days after authorities warned that rockfalls were likely after heavy rainfall across the region.
Paths up to the cliff were closed as the council urged people to stay away from the area.
New jaw-dropping footage released by the Enviroment Agency shows the cliff giving way on the morning of January 18 shortly before 11am at a deserted East Beach.
Last month, a rockfall blocked part of the beach further along the stretch of coastline at Burton Bradstock, prompting a warning to follow the signs and safety messages.
Officials have warned that the Jurassic Coast is unstable and naturally liable to landslips and falls at any time without warning.
