WINNERS have been announced for festive competitions that took place in Bridport.
Two competitions ran in the town with 'most festive front door' and 'best Christmas shop window' challenging residents and businesses to pull out all the stops to be in with a chance of glory.
Andy Violet and Tracey Dunford-Violet were crowned winners of the front door competition, which was judged by Karen and Godfrey from Bridport Banners.
Their entry included a festive wreath and a huge red ribbon which spanned the length of the door.
They received a Christmas hamper from local Italian restaurant Mercato Italiano as a reward.
A hat shop in Bridport claimed victory in the best shop window competition for its extravagant entry.
T. Snook Hatters and Outfitters came out on top in the public vote for a top effort which included tinsel around the windows, a white tree taking centre stage, festive lights and an assortment of baubles.
They were closely followed up by Higos Insurance in second place and health and food shop Natural Life coming in third.
Chair of the Bridport Christmas Cheer Committee Terri Foxwell said: "On behalf of the Christmas Cheer Committee, I would like to congratulate all the winners.
Thank you to everyone that entered the new Festive Door competition and to Bridport Banners for judging.
"All the town centre window displays were viewed as part of the competition – thank you all very much for making the town look so festive and supporting this year’s Christmas Cheer."
Both competitions were among an array of Christmas events that took place in Bridport during the festive period.
Christmas Cheer began the festivities on Wednesday, December 7 with the turning on of the lights on the Christmas tree and several activities, stalls and carols taking place throughout the town centre.
Then on Boxing Day, hundreds took to the cold seas to take part in the West Bay Wallow - a festive swim organised by Bridport Round Table which has become an annual tradition for keen swimmers in the area.
