A SWIMMING pool in Bridport has announced that it is set to close over the Christmas period.
The swimming pool at Bridport Leisure Centre on Skilling Hill Road in the town will be shut from Monday, December 19 until Monday, January 2.
The closure is to allow essential re-grouting works to be carried out throughout the premises of the pool.
The leisure centre said: "We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding."
The closure comes as Dorset Council revealed those under the age of 16 will be able to swim for free at various leisure centres in the county over the Christmas period.
There is no restriction to the number of times children and young people can access this offer however, there will be a requirement to provide proof of living in the Dorset Council area.
The participating swimming pools in the scheme are:
- 1610 Dorchester Sports Centre
- Weymouth Swimming Pool
- Purbeck Sports Centre, Wareham
- Ferndown Leisure Centre
- Queen Elizabeth Leisure Centre, Wimborne
- Blandford Leisure Centre
- RiversMeet, Gillingham
