Christmas has officially been welcomed at West Bay.
Crowds gathered on Sunday evening for this year’s annual switch-on of the Christmas tree lights on the Harbour Green.
Mince pies, mulled wine (donated by Karen of the nearby George) and carols performed by Dave Bells Brass helped everyone enjoy the switch-on.
The tree, sponsored by Martin’s Bar, is provided by West Bay Days; a group of volunteers which holds events throughout the year to raise money for local causes.

Its events Pirate Day, West Bay Day and Bonfire by the Beach attract thousands of people to the bay each year, raising several thousands of pounds.
That money was this year distributed to 1st West Bay Sea Scouts, The Heritage Coast Canoe Club, the West Bay Discovery Centre, Charmouth Scouts and the fund to provide Beach Wheelchair Access. Bill Lumsden, the newest resident at the nearby Harbour House residential care home had the honour of flicking the switch.

Chairman of West Bay Days, James Radcliffe, said: "We were delighted to hand over cheques totalling £4,000 to these deserving local causes.
"After the cancellations during last couple of years from the pandemic, it was lovely to get back to our wonderful fund-raising events.
"Next year we will be looking for new causes to help, it’s a real case of you scratch our back we’ll scratch yours as to run these events we need help.
"So if you are a local cause that has volunteers that can help us then please get in touch through our FaceBook page West Bay Days and you could be in line for a donation next year."
