BRIDPORT boss Chris Herbst hailed a “good all-round performance” from the Bees after their 2-0 win over Torrington on Saturday.
Second-half goals from Tom Richardson and James Cox handed Bridport their second league win of the season, lifting them off the foot of the table at Elburton Villa’s expense.
With numerous games in hand over their immediate rivals in the South West Peninsula League Premier East table, Bridport’s situation is now looking rosier.
And Herbst revealed how a stirring half-time team-talk played its part in the victory.

He told the Bridport News: “Everyone played well, it was a good all-round performance.
“We kept them quiet and they had nothing really to shout about. Everyone was on it for the jobs they got told to do, I’m really pleased.
“The first half I knew that we could go up a gear or two. When we went in 0-0 I was a bit disappointed.
“People were looking at me as if to say: ‘Really?’
“In the second half, we came out and we were a different side. We could’ve scored four or five on the day.”
Bridport have no game this weekend and Herbst revealed he would give all players bar the returning Ryan Gall the Saturday off.
He said: “It’s a nice break because we’ve got a tough December against four of the top five.
“Ryan didn’t play on Saturday so he’s going to play in the reserves.
“We’ll have the Saturday off, go and hopefully do the Christmas shopping now!
“We’ve got Will Gape with a (thigh) knock as well so hopefully the break will do us good.”
