An exhilarating play exploring the connection between football and national identity is set to tour Dorset this autumn, coinciding with the 2022 World Cup.

On Saturday, November 26 at 7.30pm Broadoak Village Hall will be host to the play ‘ENG-ER-LAND’ by Hannah Kumari. This play combines storytelling, dance, and music with 1990s football nostalgia.

Hannah Kumari is a performer, theatre maker and writer originally from the Midlands and now based in Frome. She has worked for BBC, Channel 4 and Universal Spain among others, and has featured on BBC Sports hour, Channel 5 News and BBC Newsnight.

Hannah Kumari said: “There are things in the show that people of all ages and from all backgrounds will identify with. It’s fun and refreshing, and you don’t need to like football!”

Coinciding with the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, ‘ENG-ER-LAND’ will tour to Broadoak near Bridport (01308 424922) at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 26 and Broadmayne near Dorchester (07443 659912) at 8pm on Sunday November 27.
