BRIDPORT boss Chris Herbst labelled as “ridiculous” his side’s defending since he was made permanent manager.
Herbst oversaw four games as interim manager in the aftermath of previous boss Edgar Marcu’s sacking, leading to just six goals conceded in four games.
During that time, he led Bridport into the FA Vase first round with a 2-0 win over Petersfield and claimed two draws.
However, since Herbst was named the permanent successor to Marcu the Bees have shipped 16 goals in three matches.

Those three games have seen a worrying return to the type of scorelines that spelled relegation for Bridport last season and Herbst is eager to stabilise his defence.
He said: “We set them up and they just gift goals away. I’d say 80 per cent have been our mistakes.
“I’m not being deluded with it, you can’t keep gifting goals – it’s ridiculous. We’re trying to change things, and we will.
“I do a team talk and it’s like they don’t listen for the first ten minutes. That’s the sort of thing we need to change. It’s going to be a lot of hard work.”
