BRIDPORT & West Dorset Golf Club stars claimed a national title last week by winning the Seniors Classic at the Portal championship course in Tarporley, Cheshire.
After a series of regional matches, the four-ball team of George Brown, Nick Jones, Martin Drennan and Rob England defeated Badgemore Park 4-0 in the semi-final.
The final against Colchester Golf Club was a tighter affair where Bridport emerged 3-1 winners.
Elsewhere, Avril Brown and Carole Hedley held their annual charity day on Tuesday in aid of the Burrough Harmony Drop-in Centre.
In a three-ball Texas scramble format, Karl Rogers, Alan Huntington and Alan Newham took the spoils with a net score of 65.1.
The final total raised on the day was expected to be £500. Brown and Hedley would like to thank all golfers, sponsors and volunteers that contributed to this worthy cause.
