CAFÉ owners have said they are thrilled after being handed the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Award for a second year running.
Beaminster-based Tangerine Café & Gallery were recognised for the award which celebrates businesses that have received great reviews from customers on Tripadvisor over the last 12 months.
Despite the challenges the past year has presented Tangerine Café stood out by consistently delivering positive experiences to its customers.
The award impressively puts the café in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide, and owners Sue and Chris Sims are over the moon. Mrs Sims said: “We are thrilled to win the award again and be included in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide by Tripadvisor.
“This is thanks to the excellent reviews we continue to receive and as ever are grateful for the enthusiastic support of our customers. The reviews we receive from our customers so often make our day.”
Chief commercial officer at Tripadvisor said: “Congratulations to the 2022 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Winners. The Travellers’ Choice Awards recognise the best in tourism and hospitality according to those who matter most – the guests. Ranking among the Travellers’ Choice winners is always tough, but even more so than this year as we emerge from the pandemic.”
This isn’t the first award the café has received this year – in February it was awarded Silver for the Café and Tearoom of the Year category in the Dorset Tourism Awards 2021/22.
Tangerine opened in 2019 and has rapidly become renowned in the town and surrounding area for its range of homemade cakes, brunches and lunches, and quality tea and coffee – with Sue and Chris determined to see Tangerine develop despite the setback of closures due to covid.
The pair buy all their ingredients locally and hope that Tangerine Café and Gallery will continue to complement existing food businesses and widen the choice for local people and visitors.
With customers insisting they provide ‘the best bacon butty for miles’, the café is open Sunday to Tuesday every week and on occasional evenings for special events such as parties, baby showers, private dinners, and wakes.
