BRIDPORT Gig Rowing Club have launched a supreme fundraising effort for a new boat.
Given a waiting list to join the club, new boats are required to replace older ones, namely the club's first-ever racing gig 'Dagger'.
The gig is being built by Brian Nobbs, the same person who built Bridport's beloved 'Brydian'.
Built using traditional materials and expert building techniques, the new vessel requires the club to raise £27,999 to cover costs.

Club members are therefore rowing 2,880km, the equivalent of navigating the Great British coastline, to raise funds.
Members will be stationed on rowing machines in the WI Hall in West Bay.
This season has been a really successful one for the club – both on and off the water.
Regattas and events attended across the UK involved a wide range of age groups and fitness levels and the enjoyment factor has been there for everyone taking part.
Next year the club is keen to build on their ability to develop a strong club full of dedicated rowers and run by volunteers, welcoming interest from anyone in the local area who would like to get involved.
