Bridport Business Chamber of Trade and Commerce have some meetings coming up - including an important discussion about the town’s electricity needs.
The September Chamber meeting is at Mountfield on Tuesday, September 20 at 6pm. All local businesses welcome; come along and introduce yourself to the local business community - free tea and cake provided.
The Chamber says it is always looking for new members 'to strengthen our numbers and our voice at local, county and national level'.
It costs £40 a year to be a member and you'll be kept informed about what's going on in the area and 'how the business community is pulling together to help each other as we enter a worrying winter'.
Meanwhile, ‘Is Bridport’s Electricity Supply Fit for Purpose?’ is a subject which will be discussed with the Distribution Manager of the area's electricity distribution network operator Western Power at a meeting supported by the town council on Tuesday, October 4 at 6pm (also held online via Zoom).
Debbie Bond from the Chamber said: “This is a matter of real importance, due to the additional strain on the system from the new housing developments and the requirement and need for electric vehicle charging points. Western Power is confident it has adequate infrastructure and plans in place - are they right?”
