TAKE a step inside to see life at Shire Hall in Dorchester before it was transformed into a museum.
The courthouse, built in 1797, is perhaps best known for the trial of the Tolpuddle Martyrs but children as young as seven were tried in the courtroom.
As part of Shire Hall's 'teas and talks' series of events, join the team on Saturday, October 1 to find out just what happened in the court.
Using case studies of children tried at Shire Hall from the 1830s this talk explores how children were treated and why sentencing and punishment changed over course of the 19th century.
Learning manager Anne Brown leads the talk.
The talk kicks off at 2pm with tickets available from £6 at https://shirehalldorset.org/
