Firefighters from across Dorset have been tackling a large barn fire since 1am this morning (August 18).
Crews from Bridport, Charmouth, Lyme Regis, Beaminster and Dorchester are currently attending the blaze on Pymore Lane.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said they expect to be at the scene "for some time".
The barn, holding 200 large bales of hay, is being extinguished using two 70mm hoses and two hose reel jets.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire is currently being contained whilst crews work on removing as much hay as possible to prevent further escalation."
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said: "We are currently dealing with a large barn fire along Pymore Lane and will be for some time.
"Please avoid this route due to the smoke and multiple appliances in attendance."
