Police equipment was taken from the scene of a road traffic collision.
While officers were dealing with a crash on the A3066 at Melplash last night, a blue flashing light used to alert motorists of the closure was taken.

A spokesman from Weymouth and Portland Police said: "Whilst assisting colleagues in Bridport with an RTC, it appears someone helped themselves to one of our blue flashing lights.
"These were on top of the cones at the road closure, helping to keep colleagues and motorists safe in the dark while the RTC was being dealt with.

"Fortunately there was not a further RTC, but the light will have to be replaced for the next incident on a road we go to deal with. If anyone knows where the light may have gone walking off to then they may like to return it to us at their earliest convenience."
The road was closed for three hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
