Police are appealing for a motorcylist to come forward following a fail-to-stop collision which left another biker seriously injured.
Emergency services were called to the coast road at Portesham at around 11.30am yesterday to reports of a road traffic collision.
The crash, at Goose Hill, involved two motorbikes travelling westbound towards Abbotsbury.
Dorset Police said last night it was reported the rider of one of the motorcycles failed to stop at the scene and an investigation is underway to identify and locate them.
Officers are therefore appealing for the motorcyclist involved to come forward, as well as anyone who may have witnesses the crash.
The rider of the other motorcycle, a man aged in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
His condition is not described as life-changing or life-threatening.
The road was blocked while emergency services dealt with the incident. It reopened at 2.04pm.
Police Constable Gavin Newbury, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision or captured anything of relevance on dashcam to please contact Dorset Police.
“I would urge the second motorcyclist involved in this incident to please make contact with us so we can establish what happened.”
Anyone with information can contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting number 55220132029.
