FIREFIGHTERS have warned the public to ensure barbecues are fully extinguished after they tackled another disposable barbecue fire.
Bridport Fire Station were called to the bin fire at Freshwater Holiday Park shortly before midnight on Thursday (August 11).
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said: “One pump mobilised to Freshwater Holiday Park for a bin fire. Security and other staff members used fire extinguishers to tackle the fire before our arrival. Crews used one hose reel jet to fully extinguish and damp down the fire.
“The cause was due to a disposable BBQ being disposed of whilst still hot.
“Always ensure BBQs are fully extinguished before disposal.”
