TWO vicars in the Bride Valley have gone over to the dark side and people are laughing about it.
Rev Bob Thorn from St Mary's Church in Burton Bradstock and Ryder Rogers, an associate minister for the Bride Valley Churches have been cast at the bad guys in Burton Bradstock Player's next production, All for One, based on The Three Musketeers.
The Revd Thorn is Cardinal Richelieu and Ryder Rogers is his one-eyed henchman Rochefort, an ambitious aristocrat who, in seeking power and authority who bullies everyone apart from Cardinal Richelieu and Milady, one of the other scheming and evil characters.
On February 22, the day before the production opens, Ryder Rogers will be celebrating his 40th year as a clergyman. Ten of the years he has been a clergyman were spent in Albania, where Ryder said there was real violence which has given him plenty of experiences in the clergy to draw on for this role.
The cast range in age from eight to 80.
The production opens on with a matinee at 2pm on Saturday February 23 in Burton Bradstock Village Hall. All other performances will be held in the evening at 7.30pm from Monday February 25.
Tickets are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 10am-12.30pm in the Reading Room until Thursday February 21. Telephone bookings on 01308 897879.
