A spokesperson from the Met Office said: "Tonight, July 19, will be rather cloudy into the evening, with brighter skies initially across the east of the region. Scattered showers and perhaps thunder arriving across the region from the west with a minimum temperature of 15°C."
Tomorrow looks to be cooler, with yet more potential showers and thunder.
A Met spokesperson said: "Cloudier and much less hot on Wednesday with isolated showers, potentially heavy and thundery especially at first with a maximum temperature of 24°C."
This comes during one of the hottest few days on record, with an Amber extreme heat warning extending over much of the country including in Dorset, where we saw temperatures as high as 32°C and an average temperature of 26°C.
Yesterday saw some parts of the country reach into the high 30s, with the highest temperature being recorded in Santon Downham, Suffolk, with 38.1°C the third hottest day on record, just short of 2019's highest ever record from Oxford of 38.7°C.
The Amber heat warning continues into today with a high likelihood of being the hottest day on record.
