FIRE services are reminding agricultural businesses of the challenges they face due to the risk of fires on farms.
The location of farms is often remote, which means fire crews can take longer to reach the emergency. In addition, straw and hay is very flammable, and there are often pieces of machinery and other items which carry a fire risk.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “By reviewing your business, you can reduce your risk of fire. There are things you have to do by law, and there are extra things that will make it easier for firefighters to try and save your property.”
