A CHARITY cricket match raising vital funds for cancer medication will take place on Friday.
A crew from Lyme Regis RNLI will face members of Uplyme and Lyme Regis cricket club at 6pm on Friday, July 22 in Uplyme.
The match is to raise funds for Emma Broome - whose husband is a long-serving member of the RNLI crew - who faces an ongoing battle with bowel cancer.
Emma has undergone four operations but, with the cancer spreading to her liver and lungs, her oncologist has suggested a specialist drug that is not funded by the NHS. The estimated cost, through Dorset County Hospital, is around £1,000 a month.
The event takes place on the eve of Lifeboat Week and will feature live music, a barbecue and raffle in order to keep spirits high.
