A delicious meal was cooked and served by volunteers; Coronation chicken, roast beef and the Platinum Pudding was enjoyed by all.
Anne Johnson-Rooks, chairman of the Thorncombe Village Shop management committee, said: “We are a rather special community shop, run entirely by volunteers and a part-time supervisor.
“Our volunteers cook and serve a delicious lunch every Tuesday, and also a monthly breakfast. Bookings should be made on 01460 30282.
“Please look at our website to find information on all that we have to offer, together with our aims and ambitions, of which we are very proud.”
