FIRE crews were called in the early hours of this morning to reports of a shed, which contained gas cylinders, on fire by the Cobb.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Lyme Regis and Charmouth to the incident on Cobb Road, Lyme Regis which involved an outbuilding being on fire.
Gas cylinders were found in the outbuilding but were quickly removed and the fire was quickly extinguished preventing any significant damage to the buildings.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Cobb Road, Lyme Regis at 4.14am this morning for a fire involving an outbuilding. Two crews attended, from Lyme and Charmouth, and one hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire, while a thermal imaging camera was used to check there was no fire spread to the adjacent property.
“There were some gas cylinders in the affected outbuilding but these were removed safely. Our stop was at 4.53am.”
